South United, since the beginning, has been heavily invested in grassroots sports. This is illustrated through its various ventures, which include the Football Club, Football Academy, Sports Schools, Sports Education, Sports Events and Infrastructure, and the Sports Foundation.

South United Football Club, founded in 2012, is the first privately-owned professional Football Club in Bangalore. Since its inception, the team has played in the I-League 2nd Division, the BDFA Super 

Division, as well as the Puttaiah Memorial Cup. The Football Club has consciously been a young team that scouts only Indian talent.

The endeavor to promote youth in football and create a sustainable pathway for them is further exemplified through the South United Football Club Academy. As the best football academy in Bangalore, the Academy aims to help students progress through the different phases of its program and move upwards to the SUFC First Team squad, local and national youth teams, and teams that play in Senior Leagues, nationally and internationally.

South United has built a state-of-the-art Football Academy, which includes 11-a-side, 5-a-side, and 2-a side turfs equipped with the latest facilities. The Academy adheres to all safety norms and regulations and has the capacity to accommodate 1000 pax. With facilities like an AV Room, Gym, Medical Room, Café, Dressing Rooms and Lockers, and other such amenities, the Academy is well-suited for students and adults alike.

With a well-developed curriculum and training plan, Academy sessions are designed to give importance to a student's career in the game, enable them to advance and improve, and maximize their capabilities. Each student goes through three phases - The Foundation Phase, the Youth Development Phase, and the Professional Development Phase. The curriculum is developed by Professional and Licensed coaches from India and abroad. Following the AIFF’s guidelines and standards, South United will set up Youth Teams in the Under 13, Under 15, Under 16, Under 17, and Under 19 categories. At the Academy, South United also hosts a number of events ranging from Football Tournaments to Corporate Events and is looking to host Match Screenings, making it the go-to hub in the community.
